Bad Luck

They say bad luck comes in 3's and I think mum has had hers for a while. I started the ball rolling by having my eye turn red and start to swell up. Long story short I ended up needing an operation to cut some stuff out and mum was thoughtful enough to throw in a teeth clean at the same time. Mum worries about me getting knocked out as last time I had a couple of issues after the operation but luckily all was good this time.

Next bad luck was grandad collapsed and had to be taken to hospital so I went to Aunty M's for a sleepover as mum wasn't sure how long she'd be. Grandad is ok, still not feeling 100% but hopefully will get better soon.

Third and hopefully final bad luck was me again. Being in a rush went too quickly up the stairs and fell off (do not laugh). Except for a bruised ego, no major damage done just a couple of cuts and one really sore cut and bruise on my leg. Mum's been trying to keep it clean so it will heal but doesn't like me licking it constantly until it starts bleeding again. Thanks to Aunty A, mum has been putting some yucky tasting cream on the scratch and it finally looks to be healing.

Mum's had a tough couple of emotional weeks but I'm doing my best to make her smile and keep her spirits up (apparently farting as you walk down each step is amusing). The photo below shows how one of the many ways I keep mum amused and of course the tongue is only for mum's benefit.

I'm Back

I know I know, really really slack of me this year but mum has been really busy and even though I'm extremely talented I can't seem to turn this damn computer on by myself. To update you on the year so far, mum has been renovating the bathroom so the last couple of months have been spent by her spending all her spare time shopping for bathroom stuff or doing stuff most people would pay others to do. I don't mind her doing stuff but jees you'd think I could get some more attention during the whole process. The bathroom is now finished (except for a door and some minor things) so mum now has more time to spend on me, and about time too I say. I've thrown in a photo just so you remember what I look like (pretty cute if I do say so myself).

This is me on the new bed mum got me however I personally think it's a guilt gift so at the moment I'm pretending not to like it. Thought that would work well but mum seems to enjoy it for her afternoon naps so may have to work on another strategy.

I Tawt I saw a Puddy Tat

On Saturday mum took me over to Aunty A's so they could catch up on gossip and I could have a play date. It was really good, along with Patch and Rocky, Shani and Karma were there as well so got to have fun with a bunch of other doggies. I really need to get mum to have a chat to Aunty A though, I had to lie on the bare floor because others got the comfy beds and that really is something I'm not overly happy about.

The best thing about Aunty A's is the puddy tat Benny. I lurve puddy tat's, especially thinking about them with toast and vegemite. However, Aunty A won't let me in the house to play with Benny (don't know why) so I have to stay out the back with the poochies and humans. Benny I am sure knows exactly what I'm like as he tends to stand at the screen door and meow. The other night Benny was on a climbing thing he has near the back door. I knew he was around and I thought I scored big time when I saw him through the window so jumped up on Patch's doggy couch and this is what I saw (top left in the photo).

Damn that window for not being open.

My Poor Paw

I know it's been ages again since I last jumped on here but I've been busy, you know with the laying around and sleeping and all. And to be honest nothing really exciting has been happening around home lately. Mum finally got the picture she's been after for a while, she has this thing about my ears and how cute they look standing up, usually I drop them the minute the camera is focused.

Mum and I had a quite Christmas, always enjoy it when mum is around for a bit more than usual. Since then we've just been cruising along. Mum has decided to renovate the bathroom so we have all these plans and brochures around the house and mum spends an awful lot of time mumbling over them. Doesn't really bother me, I don't go in that room much.

This week I decided to run around my yard like I was a puppy again. It's fun and all but I just forget I'm not as young as I used to be. Anyway the end result was a sore paw. I've been limping around all week and just between you and me the limp is worse when mum is watching (going for the sympathy hugs). The worst thing is that mum has said I'm not going for my usual walkies until I'm better and am really getting a bad case of cabin fever, today I got to go around the block, but that's not very big or exciting. I'm gradually getting better but it seems to take these old bones a little longer to recover these days.

All is Forgiven

A couple of weeks ago I told you mum wasn't letting me play with my friends Patch and Rocky due to some bad habits I was picking up. Well mum has forgiven the indiscretions and let Patch and Rocky come over a couple of times while their mum was busy working and moving house.

This is them making themselves at home. Mum said they were only allowed here for a trial but they really behaved themselves quite well (for them anyway) and didn't get up to anything major, just stole a shoe or two and nicked my toys. I think she'll let them come back again which is fun for me.

On a different note, I hope everyone had a greyt christmas and new year and that 2008 is a good year for you.

Time Flys

Well it's my turn to wrestle the computer from Flo to make a very happy announcement. Yesterday was our 2nd anniversary and I'm wondering where the time has gone. I clearly remember they day I picked her up and being of a scaredey cat disposition wondered what on earth I had gotten into. I had grown up with dogs but Flo was MY first dog. So now 2 years later, through a couple of health issues, a couple of tears and a lot of joy and laughter I now know it was the best decision I have ever made. That day 2 years ago, my house turned into a home and who could resist this face.

My Day at the Track

The GAP christmas party was on the other weekend at the Capalaba Race Track. I LOVE the race track. Whenever I get there I get really excited because there is a lure to chase and I get to stretch out my lovely long legs and go for a run (that's what I assume anyway). I soon found out however that's not what happens at the christmas party

For one thing, the lure doesn't get used, I mean really, what's the point of being at a race track when they don't work the lure. And another thing, if the greys ran on the track, they had their owners hanging of their lead, well really, have you ever heard of a human keeping up with one of us, not likely.

My mum 'supposedly' has a bad knee and I have a touch of arthritis and they were the excuses she used so I didn't even get to have a little run, she can be so mean sometimes. I mean, look at me, this is obviously someone who wants to run. I spent the whole day dragging my mum towards the fence and putting my ears up and jumping at my lead so you think she could have been a little nicer, but no.

I guess it was nice to catch up with my old foster carer and some of my other friends, I'll live in the hope that next year I can convince mum to run with me.
